Beauty Essentials

There are many face products that I've used in the past: some were a total waste of money and some I actually still use from my teen years. But, lately I've been OBSESSED with Origins facial products. One day, after work, I was in a funk and needed a little pick me up. As I walked past the Origins store and smelled the alluring aroma from whatever it is they burn in that store, (a mix of citruses and a hint of jasmine), I had to have whatever they were selling. I was pulled toward the day and night creams. When you have long days where you're running on little to no energy, it shows on your face. I was told that the day cream,"GinZing", is packed with vitamin C and other energy boosting extracts and would brighten my skin and give me a glow. Along with the day cream (the orange containers in the picture below), I sampled the vitamin C eye cream. I was AMAZED!! It not only tightened my under eyes, but it gave my under eyes this  natural sparkle instantly. I was sold!  Whatever else the nice sales lady that eagerly approached me as I walked into the store was selling, I was on board. From there we went on to the night creams, the brown and green containers in the picture below. The brown container is your "Night-A-Mins". The cream is enriched with minerals to renew your skin and it's elasticity as you sleep. Brings the term "Beauty Sleep" to a whole new meaning. Along with night cream, I was told that their newest product, "Plantscription", was a must. The power serum and eye cream go on at night along with the "Night-A-Mins" to do double duty. The serum works as an anti-aging agent that helps to seel whatever the night cream is working to restore, and the power eye serum is also an anti-aging agent that could, in my case, be used to prevent tell-tell signs of work stress and lack of sleep. And finally, what else could you use to tie-in together all of these wonderful products? A face cleanser! The most important part is a clean and fresh face. I was told that the "Perfect World" frothy facial wash cleanses the skin without harshly striping it of natural oils. Sold!!

Once I made my way to the check out I couldn't help but be terrified of the total from my "Pick Me Up" spree. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't cheap...don't tell my husband... But, it was totally worth it. The second I got home I couldn't wait to try out the night products. Instantly I felt rejuvenated. Maybe it was because I didn't want to believe I spent a ton of money for nothing. But the next morning I saw a difference. My skin felt softer and had looked more hydrated. So obviously I was more than eager to put on my "GinZing" cream and eye cream. Do you know that after I put on the daily creams, I DID NOT have to put on my concealer or makeup? Yup!! You read that sentence correct. This has been my day and night regimen for the past four months and I couldn't be happier. I'm no beauty sponsor, but if you frequent the mall or Sephora, I strongly suggest you try these creams out. You won't regret it.

Until next time,
Xoxo

Next week I will show you the products I've used since my teen years for those stubborn breakouts and the marks they leave behind. You won't believe how cheap it is and what major store carries it.

Ronald Delasancha

Today's post is not about me or my style. I wanted to bring attention to my amazingly creative friend, Ronald Delasancha. He has been the brains behind the latest posts for Fashion Cassonade. We first met a year ago through work being as how he's a fellow Visual Merchandiser. Instantly we clicked over our shared love of frequent ten minute breaks and reciting "Mean Girls" quotes. As time passed, I got to see just how much more of a beautiful person he is. He's incredibly gifted when it comes to photography, but you already knew that. He has the biggest heart that he down plays with his sarcastic trash mouth (my absolute favorite part about him). As busy as he is with work, family and other fabulous obligations, he takes the time to help me with my blog.

I have to say, even if we weren't friends or I didn't know him, I would have to give him props on his style. He has the ability to wear what he feels according to his mood, much like myself. One day he's "80's Prep Boy" and the next he's "Punk Rock". I love how he gets that fashion isn't to be taken too seriously or to hold yourself to only one style genre.

Oh, wait.... and did I mention he's single!? Just throwing that out there!

Love you RonBon!

Causal Friday

I adore the freedom of jeans and their versatility. I can wear them with flip flops or sexy heels and still feel stylish in this pair.  For today's mission (appointments and coffee with friends), these strappy heels with this overall look say "casual sophistication".  Today I just wanted to wear something comfortable and easy, but still have some "sass" about me. You know those days where you want to look good without looking like you tried too hard. And since I'm a California girl, the Fedora and Ray Ban sunglasses are a must for a Friday. Don't ask me why, I don't make the rules LOL!

Hope you all have a good relaxing weekend! I'll see you here on Sunday!!

Until next time,

Sequined Charmer

I must make a confession..... sequence was my first love. That's right! Ever since I was about 5. Of course, over time a person's style changes as they evolve and mature. But, I believe we all have those certain fashion pieces or colors that somehow, (no matter your age or current style preference) makes its way into your closet. It's human nature! We can't help what we love or have always loved. I have tons of sequenced items in my closet that I know I may never get to wear because they're way too fancy for my daily attire. But, with this hand made sequined trench you better believe I made a way to make this work! By pairing it with simple biker shorts, an oversized shirt and black booties, I let my bedazzled piece do the talking without being overkill. I find that when you're wearing something that's loud or has a lot going on, it's best to let that piece shine and have the rest of your outfit muted or under stated. Adding final touches like the John Lennon circle sunglasses, slouchy beanie and my beloved backpack makes my overall look a bit 'grunge' inspired. I didn't plan that to happen, I just went with the flow of things.  You should know that sequence, or fashion for that matter, is the only thing that I'll shift and go with the flow of things. I guess that's what love will do to you.

Until next time,

Off Duty

Aren't off days the best? I make sure that on my days off I take in the morning fresh air and listen to the early birds chirp. For whatever reason, it does something to my mood. Just give me that moment with some coffee, a good fashion magazine and the 'Telepopmusik' station and I'm set!! It's a nice break from the week long hustle and bustle. Sometimes I feel that we spend our days so involved with our daily demands that we forget to stop for a second and take in certain moments. I know I'm definitely guilty of being a slave to the clock and constantly rushing.

I say all of this because I wonder: what if we all took in a moment that made us all center for a second? How much better would your days be?
Just a thought...

Until next time,

Storm Trooper

Happy Monday! I hope everyone is having a great start to the week. Today's outfit post is really a reflection of challenges I've been experiencing. Hence, the title "Storm Trooper". While growing up we all heard the old saying, "When life gives you lemons, just make lemonade". I actually would like to make my own for us fashionistas. How about, "When life gives you drama, make damn sure you look good for your close up". Of course "your close" up in this saying is the final outcome of the stronger you.
While weathering a storm you need a comfortable sweater for those cold nights, rugged/distressed jeans for the rough times, sturdy boots for the long road ahead and finally a functional backpack to carry your beauty products in so you still look good through it all.

This post I would like to dedicate to my Mommy! I hope to be half the woman you are one day.

Until next time,
Xoxo
